where is the best price on transducers!?

Price may not be the problem as Humminbird stopped making the older XHS-9-Si-160-T transducer some time back.  Your problem may be in finding one at all.

Buy the XHS 9 HDSI 180T instead. You will lose the 262 kHz option and the 987 cannot use 800 kHz, but 455 kHz works and gives better results than 455 kHz in the original transducer. At 262 kHz the result is usually so fuzzy you can live without it. American webshops on eBay can afford prices which means you sometimes can get two transducers for the price for one in europe, shipping, VAT and custom fees included.
