Title: range on mega recordings
Post by: Benthivadv on April 29, 2018, 11:52:56 PM
I seem to be getting random range on my Mega recordings when reviewed with Hummviewer, sometimes the data displays out to 66 or 98 feet, sometimes it shows with deadspace out to several hundred. Has anyone else seen this? I will try to post screen caps.

Yep have had the same problems and got somethings to try from other members.  Talked with HB CS twice which gave me the same thing to do which doesn't correct the problem.  They said the units have a known problem in shallow water, 3 feet but i never troll in less then 7'.   I have a lot of problems with it reading the second bottom and using that data.  setting Max depth is not the answer as the areas i fish have depths of 24 feet in places so when I troll in 7 feet 14 will be recorder.  I should not have to degrade my settings just to get accurate bottom readings.  I have 2 Helix 10 Megas and a 9 and they all do it.   I hope we get this worked out.  Looking forward to seeing if you find out the answer.  Don

If you changed the SI range on the unit during the recording there may be deadspace in Hummviewer.
