Title: 6.180 updating

Is it safe to update the 6.1 version on a 1198 now?

Don't know.  I would like to know the same thing myself.  I will say this about Humminbird, these updates should never be released until ALL kinks and troubles are worked out.  I have already downloaded the 6.180 once and replace it with the previous software that is before the 6.180 .  I never had much trouble but with one problem and that was it messed with my Weather Sense and XM Weather.  Hopefully someone can give us some answers soon.

Well .....yes and then again maybe no ? .l have the 1197 and the 898 l have updated both these units and dont have a problem, But saying that both my units are not connected to each other or anything else...The problems seem to be when you connect more than one unit to another one

We updated our 1197 without any trouble.  but remember we dont use any of the HB nav screens nor do we interconnect anything..

We do agree with several others that the released code does not seems to be tested as well as it should (could) be..

I unplugged my interlink and updated my 1198 and everything seemed to be fine even after I plugged the interlink back in.
