3DField map and humminbird.
« on: February 20, 2014, 03:40:40 PM »
Does anyone have information on the 3DFMmaps program and can HB data be used by 3DF? On a second request, what mapping is available for HB to produce bathymetric maps from the down transducer. I think it may be the 83 or 200 frequency.
I have some requests to map lake areas for another contractor who needs to know the real lake depths and not some years old map. We can run sonar and hand record the data but he is wanting a printed map.

I started using Reef Master to make my maps and also make 3d maps.  Is this what your talking about?  RM has been great for making maps of the areas I hit most and in time I will have enough projects to have the whole lake done.

Hope this helps sonar.  Go to RM forum and you should find more detailed info.

good luck

Thanks slab. I am leaning towards Reefmaster and am waiting on a call from Matt. I am checking the trial version now to see if it supports contour mapping. I have a feeling I am going to go with RM. It is just a new program and I will have to get used to how it works.
The use will be just the contour (bathymetric) and 3d maps for lake projects.

Chuck

Note: downloaded the trial version and am working thru it now..

Since HB bought DRDepth and as yet have no plans to release it I went with Matt's ReefMaster. I am working my way thru now and it seems to be the program to use.
Thanks. Chuck

Matt is squared away for sure!  He is fast to get back in reference to issues.  With the SI overlay update coming soon it does all I need it too.

RM has a lot of features and as I work thru I may get to them all. Currently I need the contour and 3d views in print for surveys.
Thanks to all the replies and I will get more posted as I learn the program..
