Title: bridge pictures with my new trasduce mount
Post by: jimf on April 16, 2010, 09:02:42 PM
Not sure if everyone remember but i made a new trasducer mount for under boat and I wanted to try running gas motor to see how the 3m tape would hold up. It holded up very good so far and I have this 2 pictures of 2 bridge to show for it.
Check them out.
So it works better under the boat then in the back. Its still at the back of the boat but just under about 6" under boat.

Jim, we run our SI transducer on a 6 foot trolling motor shaft with the Johnny Ray adapter.  We dont have the Tm on the shaft, just the transducer.  We can keep the ducer down far enough to keep surface air or cavitation out of the beam.  this is of course at trolling speed. (usually abut 1.5 mph)  If we were to hit a below the surface object the shaft and transducer flip up out of the way.   SI is sensitive to a lot of influence so any thing we can do to make it work is worth the effort.  Great job on your modification.  Chuck
