New owner update question
« on: May 29, 2014, 06:39:33 AM »
Just purchased the 1199 SI and updated to 7.02 version. I have a problem where if I keep going through different views, the unit will shut down instead of cycling back to the first view. Do I need to also install previous updates or does the new version contain all the previous changes?

Welcome to the Humminbird Side Imaging Forums Mullethead.

The current software update has all previous software versions in it.
Make sure that your power connections to the new 1199ci HD Si unit are all good.  No loose of corroded connections even on the fuse, fuse holder and battery connections.

Connections all good- brand new unit. I assume it should go back to first view when scrolling through? Have you run into this before?

Not with this software version though we have seen it in older versions of software, especially if you started pressing the VIEW button when it was just starting up.
Yes, when continuing to press the VIEW button it should start back over at the first View, once you have gone through all that are available.

Not sure what is causing this, anyone else running an 1199ci HD Si unit with the 7.020 version software in it?

I updated my 1199 to the 7.020 tonight and I can cycle through all screens repeatedly.

Did you reset to defaults AFTER the update was performed?
I read elsewhere this worked for some folks - then customize away....

I don't recall. But FYI when I tried to update my 999 to 7.02 it locked up at the "Shutting down..." Screen.

Ended up that when I pulled the power after an hour and tried to restart it just kepit cycling shutting down screen then rebooting - an endless loop. HB sent me a shipping label so they could get it back to get it back up and running.

Bummer.
I have never had a flash go bad, but I always make sure I have a good power connection - like the battery with the charger on it! AND that everything's been fired up & settled in for a few minutes (knock wood) before the card goes in the slot. I have to wonder if the downloads sometimes get corrupted & the ROM to be installed is just no good?
Anyways - hope HB gets you back up & running in short order - the transit time is usually what takes the longest, you should have it back by next Friday as long as you're stateside.
