Topic: transducer mount on 1986 Ranger 390V

Anybody know the best position to mount a transducer to a Ranger 390V 1986 bass boat?  I bought the boat last year and the previous owner had a thru-hull transducer mounted on the very bottom of the boat directly in front of the motor.  We had it removed and the hole was patched because it was interfering with the motor as well as it was very susceptible to getting damaged or broke off.  Anyway, we could either relocate the thru-hull transducer or do a transom mount.  I posted a few pictures if that helps.

What type of transducer are we talking about here: a Side Imaging transducer or a 2D sonar transducer?

Can you post another picture of the transom, this time so it shows the whole rear transom area and also one from the left (and one from the right) looking across the transom.
