let me start by saying hello to all.
i downloaded hb pc from hb web.
it shows a update for the 798ci hd si that i just got.
i have did a search on here with not luck.i am looking in the wrong place or using the wrong key words.
when i try to download the update it dose not give hb pc as a option.so i put it in my documents.but when i go to my documents using hb pc its not there but is if i just go normal.
tried to put on the sd card from the list . but it tells i cant put it there.
don't know what i am doing wrong.
i seen where said i needed to use a sandisk card.well i am using a 4 gb sandisk card with adapter and sandisk card reader with usb on it..

You do not need to use HumminbirdPC to update the software in your units. It is only used for those units that do not have an SD card slot. Just download the software directly to the SD card. In fact the latest software for the 798ci unit is not on the web site. I would add it but it seems I am having problems uploading software this morning so you should go to the Humminbird web site and register you unit and download it from there.

already registered the unit..it finally let me down load the update in my account to the sd card.ill put it in the unit tonight when i get home to see if it up loads it...

Marcus, before ou install reference the following link on this forum fore the proper procedure. If you do not follow this you could lock up yourunit..

Also disconnect any accessories like an InterLink, WeatherSense or anything like that (GPS can stay connected) before you do the software update. It would not hurt to save the waypoints and than delete them all from the unit before updating as well.
