AS GPS HS antenna
« on: April 10, 2013, 01:24:15 PM »
Installing AS GPS HS antenna and confused.
directions for calibrating heading sensor calls for going into menu to "heading offset" but the offset is 0 to 30 degrees.What if its off the other way.Haven't done the step using satellite positions while moving in a straight line.Have boat pointed south( in garage) and heading sensor is pointing at 190deg.If I try to calibrate using menu option, I can only go  from 190 to 220deg.I need to go from 190 to 130deg.(opposite direction) To bring it to 180deg.
using version 6.61 on hb798ci
antenna puck is point toward front of boat.
Used another compass in different locations and doesn't seem to be any strong magnetic fields with various equipment on.

HB is aware of the offset issue, it only happens if you do not have ethernet. They told me they would address in the next release of the software.

You do need to check off the trailer and in the water though. I created some track lines in local lake that were along the N/S axis and E/W axis then drive those to check.
