Title: The waypoint positions in the 360 are strange.
Post by: snoosia on July 02, 2023, 12:36:36 AM
I am using the initial version of Helix 9 with the 360 Imaging system.
However, there is a significant difference in the waypoint positions between the regular map and the 360 view.
The issue seems to be on the 360 side.
The waypoints appear in incorrect locations on the 360 view, whereas they match the actual Side Imaging view and the map.

I don't understand why there is such a significant discrepancy, as both the fish finder, heading sensor, and 360 sensor are all within a 1-meter radius as shown in the picture. I'm unsure if this is normal or if there is a problem. If there is an issue, what would be the recommended troubleshooting steps to take?

Please find attached the screen with the noticeable difference. Please refer to it for further assistance

There are many reports of waypoint inaccuracies on the 360 view  ...

I have not found any satisfactory explanation in any of the forums that I follow  ...

It could be possible that Humminbird is investing their R & D dollars in imaging technology and less R & D dollars on GPS technology associated with that imaging technology  ...

Just like our discussions of waypoint inaccuracies back when SI first came out - the best advice I have found is to mark targets on the 360 view, then go find that target with 2d (and re-mark that waypoint)   ...
