Hi, my newby question is about my brand new, not even overboard yet 899SI. Seems when I power off and watch countdown then screen say's "Humminbird is powering down" it,s just pretending and will hold that screen for, well I guess till the battery is dead or I cut the power. Anybody having like trouble? Do you think this might be a software update fix or do I need to get the packing paper out. Standin By thanks, BB

I've heard this same report with various 998's ...
Although I'm not sure what is causing this issue ... I have finally borrowed a 998 that seems to have this issue so that I can try to figure out a workaround ...
I'm guessing there is some issue with the micro switch under the power button rubber ...
