Yes you can.
However you will have to adjust your readout selection.
Make sure you are in advanced mode and then  set your AUX readout for the second connected sensor.

John, is that pn103108 the temperature sensor?
I did not see that on HB site..
If so I think it plugs into the temp/speed connector.  The first temp comes from the transducer..
I dont have a 798 manual in front of me right at this minute..

I just saw this. dont know if this is applicable to you:

I will check some more tomorrow...
I see an offset for the aux temp but dont see the readout screens..

On the pre-HD units, the second temp probe connect directly to the head unit.

On HD units (798 I'm sure) you need an adapter cable that plug in the transducer plug.

I switched from a pre-HD 778C to a 798 HD and have the adapter cable on order.

Thanks, it seemed that the ethernet replaced the other plug and that a y cable or such shared with the transducer.

Let us know how it works for you..

I will come back when I have the results..

I have made a 70 ft temp sensor with a plug to remove it when not in use.
I use the second temp sensor to measure water temperature for my diver friends.
