Title: son2xtf.exe?
Post by: equinox on July 29, 2010, 02:53:58 PM
According to the maker of Drdepth there should be a "son2xtf.exe" that converts the information according to "Humminbird sonar log files (.dat)', you must first place a copy of Humminbird's data converter utility 'son2xtf.exe' in the install directory of DrDepth. You can get this utility program from Humminbird (due to licensing this program can not be included in the DrDepth installer). With 'son2xtf.exe' in place, select your .dat file(s) to be imported (in this case R00005.DAT)." how do I find this  son2xtf.exe?

One of two ways.  Go to Humminbird.com and register your unit.  Then login to your account and it will be listed in the downloads next to your unit.

Or you can find it here on the forum in the Donwloads (http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?action=downloads) section.

Good Luck,

I already had it on the computer....
How do I record or save the .son and .dat files?
I have the computer with the Dr.depth program connected and it records, calculates and produce the normal depth maps.
But for the bottomhardess maps and the SI projection it needs the .son and .dat files.
I have been informed that there should be a register named R0000x where do I find that one?
My 200 Hz is running all the time.

When you record a scan the HB places a file on the sd card called RECORD. That file contains a R000XXX.dat file and an associated R000XXX file.  In the R000XXX file are the three recordings .IDX and associated .SON files. B001 thru B003.
You copy these to where ever your viewing program is.
