Title: Are these Fish??
Post by: Jawzz on May 13, 2013, 02:18:32 PM
Im still trying to figure what I see is actually fish - Here are a couple of pics from my unit.  The first one appears to be a school of bait fish??
Is the second pic a fish?  I would not think so because there is not an arch.  It's like a half arch???......

The first one almost looks like bait.  Did you turn around and then see that.  It looks more like prop wash than a bait ball.  If you crossed over your own track then prop wash for sure.

The second one is a fish.  You didn't catch all of him per se.  He is heading back down to the bottom.  Came up a pinch to check something out or the boat spooked him and down he went.

Thanks, that's a lot of info for second pic. How can you tell that he's on the move?

Also, why is there nothing shown on the DI right side of screen for second pic?

2d is a cone shape...DI (in the HB SI unit) is derived from the thin slice shape SI beams...

A fish can easily be (forward or aft) in the 2d cone shape beam ...but not in the SI/DI thin slice shape beam..
