Navionics Question
« on: March 16, 2011, 02:02:19 AM »
I am interested in purchasing a NAVIONICS Hotmps west chip.  I noticed that Navionics has a Hotmaps west application for your computer on their web site.  I have not purchased this because I they do not have any method for me to verify that their site is secure.  I am trying to work that out with them but that process is going pretty slow at the moment.  It is like dealing with the government, they don't believe that they have a problem...

I believe that the benefit of the computer application is that you can create waypoints within the application that can be transferred to the finder so you can navigate to those locations when you arrive at the lake.  Does anyone know if it is required that you purchase this application seperately and directly from them or does it come with the chip and can be uploaded to your PC ?   If so, I can just purchase their product on ebay and I will have what I need.  I sure would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows.

Thanks,

Dan

Thanks Gary.  I thought that might be the case.  I'll go ahead and get the chip and stop worrying about it.  Thanks again!

FYI.....

I just navigated back to ebay to purchase the hotmaps premium  west chip and noticed that there were several auctions that sell both the chip and the application for the same price.  I do not know why I did not see this when I was looking initially.  Anyway, that is a great value and it can be purchased securely so I am set.  Many thanks again to Gary!
