« on: June 02, 2012, 01:03:08 PM »
bought an oldy stratos from a real what turns out to be real jerkoff.he works for the university of Kentucky as a maintnance guy..hope he doent fix anything important there cause the hack jobs he did on this boat is a wonder. boat came with a 100sx fishfinder on it sitting on the quick release set up and everything but it reads transducer not connected,so i took it off and check wires and find that the trans ducers hooked to the quck release bases DONT work with the 100sx head unit the transducers are 5 pin and 4 pin the 100sx takes 2 pin transducer, the power cord is right but i need to find the right head unit to match theses transducers or get a transducer to fit the 100sx any ideas ?

Humminbird still has the owners manual for the 100sx fish finder that you can download it on the humminbird site.

After further checking it looks like Humminbird 710047-1 Model XHS 6 24 Transom Mount Transducer is what you need, it cost appx. $43 from ---> http://salestores.com/humminbird7115.html <---  Humminbird charges $61 for it.

Have you called Humminbird, someone there should be able to give you the information that you need.  The manual does not state the type of transducer.  Have you thought about purchasing a new unit and installing it in place of the transducer and head unit, in the end it might be cheaper.

It sounds like you are going to be beating your head against the wall trying to work this out.  I have had 2 used boats and now at 68 I was finally able to purchase a new boat (Stratos 201 XL Evolution).

But both of the used boats I purchased I have had to make them my own, most times the previous owners have done things that were not right and had to be corrected.  The first boat I had to cut the deck out and replace all of the rotten wood and rebuild the motor.  The second one was a 16 foot aluminum boat which I converted to what I call a poor mans bass boat, installed decks over the seats etc.

The bottom line think about what you want out of this boat and when you have the money purchase the right Humminbird for your boat.

But the bottom line is to not let it frustrate you and look at everything as an opportunity to make it yours.

Claysue123, George could not be more right. Any used boat will need some new owner modifications to make it HIS.
I have had 17 boats over the years new and used all of witch have had to fixed/repaired/modified/personalized in some way to fit my needs!

Good Luck and Enjoy!
