I've got the latest software downloaded on both units but I can't get the network to work.
Also, I'm using the same ethernet cable that I used when I had the 1199 networked to a 998...correct or is there a special cable for the Onix?
Suggestions?

I don't think the units will show up on each others network listing, but should share waypoints.......Maybe someone who has done it will check in an help you out.

I thought the new upgrade would allow them to share maps, settings, etc?

The 98 series will only share waypoints ..... I think the 99 series will share I-pilot spot locks and tracks also........ but I couldn't find the link that details the difference between the 98 and 99 series.......... but only Onix to Onix will share maps......Onix must be at the new 2.31 for

Bob, thank you for your help! I was miss informed about the extent of the 2.30 upgrade! I see now that I'll only be able to share waypoints and iPilot info!
The waypoints were the most important thing that I wanted!

The waypoint sharing was the primary thing that we asked for ..... They jumped thru a lot of hoops to get that working for us.....
Let us know how the Onix / core combinations works out for you...
