Title: What type of plastic?

What type of plastic are the gimbal mounts made of for a LCR400 fish finder. I needed a replacement and the new mount I acquired is over 2" too wide. Thinking of cutting then gluing or welding back together.

I don’t know the answer to your question  ... but  ...

Can you cut a section of the gimbal in the center and mount the 2 halves to a separate base plate or Ram mount  ...?

much better idea than glue ! Rikie , yes and use 4 bolts each side so it does not bucle in .
