Right Side of SI stopped working. Any ideas?
« on: July 18, 2018, 09:52:35 PM »
I have new Helix 10 SI Mega.  Everything has been working fine and really was liking the Mega Imaging...until Sunday.  I attached a picture of what the screen looks like now.  Left side works great and has good quality images.  Right side is pretty much all black.  I checked the transducer placement to make sure it didnt move, made sure the brackets were tight and checked level.  The wiring looks fine but I can only trace is from the transducer up a few feet until it goes into the boat.  I have multiple units networked so I switch to another unit and it is doing the same thing so it is not the head of the unit.  Any ideas?  System is only 3 months old, are people seeing problems with the transducers?

Always try Restore Defaults 1st  ...

Then - Disconnect all network cables and test the suspect xducer physically connected to a different head unit  ...

If the issue remains - the xducer needs replacing  ...

I had the same problem on the left side on a Helix 9 (G2n SI). Even on a new transducer which we thought was the problem but it persisted. No line of sign issues noticeable on the stern mounted transducer. We finally decided to send the unit back for servicing. I'll update when we get it back. The promised to replace the unit if they can't clear the problem.

I have to say that customer service with Hummingbird is awesome. Very personal.

Paul R did you ever find out what the problem with your unit was? I have the same exact problem you do with left side and now both. They told me to update software and see what that does. I have my doubts about that.  ( Hekix 12 MEGA CHIRP SI gps Gn2 )

Yes i got a brand new one thinking it was the xducer but it still did the same. HB Customer service told me to try the update first. I still have the original software version on my Helix 12 MEGA and the helix 7. So going to try that next. Thanks for
