Title: What cable to use for connecting 900/1100 series to a PC/laptop
Post by: Peter on January 24, 2010, 11:29:59 AM
Hi,

According to Humminbird's FAQ (http://www.humminbird.com/support/faq.aspx?faqid=34 (http://www.humminbird.com/support/faq.aspx?faqid=34)) the AS PC2 Accessory Kid is not recommended for any 900 or 1100 series product.

What should I use/order to connect my 1197c SI to a PC/laptop running HumminbirdPC?

Regards, Peter.

As Hendrik already mentioned. You'll be able to transfere the data from/to your unit, but the power supply cable from the cable set will not be sufficient to provide the neccessary power for the unit.
If you want to use it, cut the batterie connector off, place an in line fuse into the +wire and connect the improvised power cable either to a fully charged 12V batterie or you might also use a power converter like discussed here: http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?topic=620.0 (http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?topic=620.0)

Regards / Harry
