Hard Case for 798
« on: April 12, 2009, 10:14:02 AM »
I was looking for a plastic hard case to use to carry my 798 head unit in and decided to take another look at my old Wide Portrait blow-mold cases.  I had tried this with a 797 and it didn't fit.  With the 798 it is centered in case and all you have to do is remove the foam.  FYI the glue that HB used for these is fairly strong.  The 798 fits nice if you leave the white protective cover on.  If you like it off, you will need to add a thin piece of foam.

Anyway, this might be of use to any longtime HB users that have updated to a 798.
If it bends my rod, I'm a happy fisherman.

I bought a gun case from Wal-Mart for around 30.00 bucks. Cut the foam that came in it. Worked great, I could fit my 798 and my 778, but when I up graded to my 899 I had to use it just for that. So I bought another one.
