Title: 898si firmware version question

I have a 898si and have actually updated it a couple of times now...and being over the hill now I can't remember nuttin....i don't remember the original version the unit came with..6.490? or  what?

Is there a way to find out what my original version was?  I want to go back to 6.490 because of all the update issues that are going on.  I just want the best picture on my si and have heard the newer versions sacrificed the better quality pictures.

When did you purchase? If you have done a couple updates, you should be fine with 6.49!

i got the unit for Christmas this yr...2013.

I would call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks and have them check to see what software version your unit was built with.  Have your full unit modle and serial number handy when you call.
