Finished Installation
« on: October 05, 2015, 12:36:07 PM »
I finished the installation of my transducer and head unit of my Helix 7 on my boat. Went out yesterday, caught a couple of bass. I have a steep learning curve to interpret what I'm seeing with the side view however it worked great. I do have a question however it is not regarding side imaging. While I was trolling in 115 feet of water, the depth changed to 22 feet. I changed the sensitivity but it did not change. I had to turn the unit off and back on for it to clear. It did this a couple more times. Has anyone else had this issue?

Also, thank you to those who gave me advise on mounting my transducer.

Joe

I would fist check that your transducer didn't kick up or get loose.
The second thing to look at is possible interference:
When the depth obviously looked wrong, did you just turn on any electrical
device in the boat, including the big motor or trolling motor?
Thirdly, I'd check all electrical connections, and the battery.
