New software release levels
« on: March 15, 2012, 06:19:58 PM »
With the latest releases containing possible issues and the possibility of getting fixes for these I would ask tha all keep their eye open for the updates for the fix.
If you see could you please make sure to let me know any information that you may receive or find so that I can try to keep these codes in proper order and available for the downloads section of this forum

I want to make sure that the code we supply on download section is good and not containing issues.
The 6.180 equivelent we have now could be with problems as some have found out so far..

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can lend to the forum in this matter..

Chuck

Does this mean that you will be removing all previous version of software code for each unit?  I would think that it does as all have some bug, glitch or something wrong with them however major or minor it may be.

Did you ever get where you can post the larger software files to the site?  I couldn’t and so stopped adding new software (I think there is an 8MB file size limit or something like that).

No, I would suggest something like keeping the last 3 to 5 releases...on the forum

Working on the download restriction.as we speak..

In addition I am working on a more descriptive area for the specific release so that comments (by the moderator) can be added as needed.
Just as in the 6.180.  We should be adding a tag for the known issues as it surfaces.

Just a good job for the moderator..

Greg,

It is now at 32mb.  I am going to see if we can go more, but give it a try and let me know.

What are your thoughts on removing the old software?  It is starting to get a little crowded in some of them.  I think having the last 3 is a good idea.

Chuck, Greg,

I made some changes to one of the settings and the max file size should be 80mb.

Is that enough?  I think I can go up some more if needed.

Robert, that should be fine..

I will get with you and we can decide on any deletes and then I can do that..
3 is probably a good number unless we see a rash of quick releases for a unit.  this is something I can track and monitor..

I am missing a coujple of 6.180 (or the long name) and will soon have all of this on the download.

Robert,
Chuck and I spoke about this today.  My vote is for the last 3 updates.  If we see a rash of software updates for a unit it probably means you won’t want the first few as that would mean a big problem and the follow ups are fixes so no need to list and post the problem software.  Sort of like the 6.180 software and some of the issues we have bee hearing about it…

80MB should be overkill.

I like the moderator generated comments.  Now if we could just get a clear indication of what was actually changed as it is not always communicated so clearly for all software updates.

Looks like Chuck will be carrying the ball on this as I am swamped with work here.

Thanks Robert.
