What version of firmware for the 898 is the most stable and provides the clearest si, di, etc.. live screens?

I want to know the answer to this question also.  So please everyone tell us what your results are with the firmware you are now using or what's worked best for your 898 C SI unit in the past.

I see this didn't go anywhere. Thought I would bump it up to see if anyone wants to give their opinion. I currently have the 6.74 that gives better  si clarity but worse on the 2d (bigger pixels). My last update before this was 6.40, but with it I had problems with my di giving white horizontal lines. Prior to 6.40 I had the 6.18. Please jump in and give your results and what you think is best.

I agree with the last observation........SI improved standard sonar degraded (pixels became bigger).

6.490 is the version most say is stable for the 898 and 998...

Some are saying that 6.490 is better simply because their newer software versions experience has been worse...

Some are saying the latest version is the best SI they've ever had...

There seems to be very little consistency in why either of these groups are experiencing better or worse images...

Comparing the 6.490 with the newer version yourself on your personal unit will determine if you feel one is better over the other...

The only restriction known at this time is...

It is recommended to never revert to an older version of software than what came on the unit new"...
