Unit cut off today when battery was 11.2v.   Does that sound normal?

No it doesn’t but it could still happen depending on the amount of current that was being supplied to the unit.
How do you have this connected to the battery?
Did you have to extend the power wires and if so; what gauge wire did you use and  were the connections soldered and sealed?

Hey Greg, thanks for the reply. I went with a separate battery rather than a voltage regulator. The battery is a 12AH, 12V. The wiring is stock, with a 3amp blade fuse in line. The unit draws 780MA/H so what ended up happening was I was on the water way longer than I had realized. From 4am to 3pm. SOOOOO I ran the battery at .8A for 11hours. So I ran a 12AH down for 9AH. I bought the battery with the intention of running the battery down 50% (6AH) or leaving the unit on for 7hours until I get off the water. I answered my own question. I either need to turn my unit off when not needed, or I need to get a bigger battery. Basically, my battery ran dead!  Hopefully I didn't ruin the Deep Cycle battery too badly by running her down so low. I think I will use this battery for running back recordings at the house, and messing with the unit at home. I am going to try and get a voltage regulator set up for my main battery. Any ideas on where to get something like that? Does that sound feasible?
