transducer transom mount looks ok?
« on: November 10, 2012, 11:12:18 AM »
I just wanted to start by saying I love this forum! So much information  :) That is why I went out and got my first side imaging unit, a 998c. Now I just now done with the installation.  But I wanted to check with you guys first before i take it out on the lake.  I understand i will need to do some tuning, but any input would be appreciated. thanks.

Do you have a closer picture of the transducer mounted?

Is that bottom of the transducer above the bottom of the boat?

Yea its above alittle bit. I would say about 1/4 inch about it. Should it be flush with it or below?

It should be 1/8 to 1/4 inch below per the manual.

I didn't even catch that part on the manual. I probably was too excited to complete the install. thanks for the heads up.

We know that you are excited, and rightfully so, but I would offer this---
if the transducer is not installed properly, everything else goes down hill pretty fast.

Mike, thanks. I will take your word for it and double check everything before I put it in the lake.
