Title: help getting started recording images
Post by: dennis h on December 12, 2010, 12:36:32 AM
downloaded "hb pc" and "humviewer" to my pc, now how do I record an video from a screen view?  I tried today but had to go to the recording view and then turn recording on...is that the only way to do it?  Seems difficult to go to one screen, turn on recording, go back to screen you want to record, etc.  also, what is the time expected on a recording with a 4gb sd?  I feel slightly overwhelmed with this, help.  Thanks.  Dennis

Hello Dennis and welcome to the forum!

If you do recordings on the water, try to keep them around 15 minutes. That makes it easier to handle them if you are watching them on your PC (loading time).

For the recording procedure: Save the recording screen on one of the three preset buttons and your favorite view on another. If you want to do a recording, just hit the preset button for the recording view, press menu and start recording. Then hit the other preset button of your favorite view and voila, there you go.
For stopping the recording just hit the menu button in any view and scroll the " stop recording" line.

I have the first preset button reserved for the recording view and the second for SI view. You can set these button by calling up the desired view and then pressing the chosen preset button for more than three seconds. A beep sounds to confirm that you have chosen the specific view for the pressed button.

Hope this helps!

Regards / Harry

16 minutes of recording takes about 36 mb of space on the SD card.

Thanks guys, that makes a lot of sense.  I'll do that!  Can't wait to get back on the water and do some serious recording.

Remember that the forum is always able to help with recording intrepretation. Post your snapshots or ask for some help with the recordings. Several of us have sites to upload your recordings and then help you with what you are seeing.
