I have purchased the adapter cable and the AS ETH NMEA2K for nmea 2000 network to get data from my motor.
My unit is a 798ci HD Side Imaging with firmware 6.250 which was release 3/12 ish.
The network is brand new so I do not know if it works or not. My question is has anyone tried using this with the 798?
Also back in July they release and update for the 800 and up series to add nmea compatibility.
I look at the accessories section in the 798 and it does not list nmea anything at all. Should it if it is supported?
I guess what im trying to figure out is if I need to wait for a firmware upgrade to support the AS ETH NMEA2K module or if the module I have is faulty.
I tried reconnecting several times. I eve pulled the cables and plugged them in manually to the head unit with no go. Just shows the plain old menus and nothing for the nmea 2000 network.
Any help on this would be great!!!! Thanks in advance.

Yes, you need to wait for updated software. although I was under the impression that all planed support units got an update posted. I would check your HB account.

Okay just checked still shows 6.250 on 3-12-12

FYI, I got all the screens and setup menus when I updated to 6.42 on my 998 and I do not even have the AS ETH NMEA2K. So weh nthe update comes out you should be good to go.
