Questions regarding 1199 units
« on: May 08, 2014, 06:46:28 PM »
Hello all, I just had my 1199 units installed on my new boat, and my bow unit sticks on the bird when powering on the unit. Has anyone experienced this problem?
It does not do it every time. my dealer says it is a software problem and my unit needs to go back to Humminbird. My dealer also told me that my weather sense does not work with my 1199 units. They said there is going to be an update, but they did not know when. Any information you guys can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Fisherdan

Welcome to the Humminbird Side Imaging Forums Fisherdan.

If it were a software problem wouldn’t the other 1199 unit have the same issue?  Try swapping the units around to see if the problem stays with the location or with the unit.  It could be something like a low power issue to the bow mounted 1199 unit.  This is sometimes due to loose connections, corrosion on the fuse/fuse holder/battery terminals, a weak battery or maybe the wire gauge size used to extend the power cable to the 1199 unit.

They are correct in that the WeatherSense does not work with the 1199ci HD Si units but I have not heard of any future software update that will allow them to do so.  There was a new software released on Wednesday for the 1199ci HD Si units but it did not mention anything about the WeatherSense accessory.

v_7.020 - 959ci HD, 959ci HD DI, 999ci HD SI, 1159ci HD, 1159ci HD DI and 1199ci HD SI
General Fixes
• Removes NMEA0183 functionality when i-Pilot Link is connected
• Corrects issues caused when Follow the Contour feature used on an i-Pilot Link while recording an iTrack and AutoPilot is turned on.
• Corrects issue to delete iTracks from all units on the network
• Corrects POS mode allowing Chart/Side Combo view to be seen on SI units
New Features
• Adds support for AutoChart PC and ZeroLine Map cards
• Adds sonar sharing features for the 1199ci HD SI and 999ci HD SI units. The transducer on the network can be shared with a non SI  (X)X59ci HD (2014) product through the Network Source Set Up Adv. tab.   It also allows SI units to utilize dedicated DI.  Both units must have software version 6.900 or higher.  This feature will have a staggered release between now and the end of the Summer for select older models.

Hello Guys, thank you for the information, I am sorry it took me so long to get back, I had some computer issues. My dealer loaned me a unit while mine was sent in to Humminbird. The unit they loaned me has not had any issues and I fished with it all last week.
