I have recently mounted the transducer to my new 1199 cxi HD SI, I loose contact with bottom when passing 20 knots, regardless of how I adjust the probe up and down. Last try its clearly below the bottom at the transom.
I have used both Lowrance and Humminbird before on the same boat with good results, the difference is that now the transducer is located approx 10" further out to the right away from propeller turbulence and therefore also approx 2,5" higher up and this might also have an negative impact.
I am just now mounting an additional transducer XNT 9 20, 200/83 kHz since I run the 1199 together with a 1158 cx with ethernet connection in between. This might be an option when travelling longer distance.
So my question to you guys is if I can expect good 2D readings at 200/83 kHz with the XHS-9 transducer if mounted correctly?
All help highly appreciated
