SI Recording sample files. Where can I find some?
« on: January 01, 2012, 11:01:16 PM »
I just got my 998c.  However my boat will not be ready for the water for 2 more weeks. I would like to run some sample SI recording files on my PC so that I can become familiar with how underwater objects and fish look.
Can some one please be kind enough to point me in the right direction where I can download some SI recording files? Not just pictures but actual recordings of some runs. I tried to search the site but did not find any. Did find a post saying some members may have their own sites where they upload their own recording files. If such exists I would be interested in finding those sites where I could download some HB SI Recordings. Note (When I say recordings I not talking about screen pictures but the actual 15 to 30 minutes or more recording using the Side Imaging)

Thank you in advanced.

If you go to --->  http://humviewer.cm-johansen.dk/   <---  you will get two things.

The first is Humviewer, it is a great computer program to review your recordings on a computer.  You will find this valuable for getting a better view of your days recordings.

On the same page is a Test recording

If you want to try the program but don't have any recordings, you can download one here. It is a self-extracting zip file containing a short example recording.

Also, you should go to Doug;'s site  --->  http://www.dougvahrenberg.com/Videos.html  <----  there are a lot of great videos as well as a 9 part seminar which will help you get the most out of your unit.

Transfering recorded files is a bit of a challenge due to internet bandwidth and size restrictions. Which is why we dont have anh on this site.
I would suppose that getting someone to send you a disk with some recordings would be fine.
Lets see if anyone offers to do that. You might offer to pay for the shipping and the disk. small price.
You are askiong a good question and very related to learning.  Lets see where this goes.
