Title: Replacement function for dr. depth?

I have been absent from the forum ( and most everything else ) for a couple of years and am sure this subject has been beaten to death.  Is there anything out there that is similar to the old dr. depth software in function.

I am about to instal a new 998 on my boat and wold very much like to build a 3-d model of some of my regular haunts.

When I did a google I learned that Johnson Outdoors had purchased dr. depth. Is it integrated into any of the HB software capabilities now? If so what is it called so I can educate myself a bit.

You can do that with Autochart Pro ...... and it will generate a fully functional  Lakemaster map. Autochart started as Dr Depth and then Lakemaster enhanced it for use on a Humminbird unit.

Reefmaster can do this too, on your computer, but the mapping you get has limited functionality ON A HUMMMINBIRD UNIT compared to Autochart Pro.

One ( actually 2 ) follow up question, will Autochart Pro work with my 998 c si  ? 

Autochart pro:    can the data from a 360 transducer be brought in or just the side scan data?

AutoChart and AutoChart Pro will work with your 998 ...

AutoChart uses the 2d soundings for map making (either from recordings or from track exporting) ...

360 and SI are not functions for AutoChart ...

SI data can be recorded to create the SI mosaic in Autochart Pro..... I don't know if that SI data can come from the 360 if it is used just in the SI mode .... but the full 360 mode cannot be used.

  My 998 is a year old but I have never installed or used it as I had a 997 on my old yak that really did everything I needed at the time. I am  finally outfitting a new kayak(s) and was considering the costs versus benefits of just selling the 998 and buying a unit with the autochart built in. I am going to buy a 360 TD whichever way I go.

I have one more question about the possibility of exporting the 3d data in a point cloud of any description, but I'll do it in a new thread.
