Title: 1198 can't share sonar with 898

I have a couple of new units I purchased.  The 1198 is on 6.490.  The 898 is on 6.610.  Units are both SI using the same transducers.  I have them networked and they can see each other, share GPS, and I can select the transducers for the temperature readings.  When under the 2D and ADV tabs on the 898, it only shows the connected transducer.  When under the Sonar tab on the 1198, it only shows the connected transducer. 

I've tried booting them up in different orders, swapping parts and nothing seems to work.  I am wondering if I have an incompatibility in the software. 

As far as I've been able to tell, I have software that should work together and is under the line in the sand.

Also, I did try setting a way point on the 898 and it showed up on the screen of the 1198, so I assume it's working.  I'm trying to get it all working before running the wires and drilling the holes in the boat.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm assuming a software update is what's needed, but really didn't want to as I've heard 6.49 is the best/stable for my 1198.

I think you have selected the incorrect option for your 898. I believe you have to select HDSI Not 200/83(duel beam). That is of course if you are using an HDSI, and not a compact SI or us2 for your transducer. Only like features can be shared. Bob

Just thought I would follow this up.  Wayne went to great lengths in testing out the software.  He couldn't get them to set up properly with the 360 version software utilizing 2 tabs (2D and ADV) vs the SONAR on the older version.  I'm not 100% positive the units have to be on the identical software, but the difference seemed to be when the tabs showed up.

I've now updated my software to 6.740 and everything is functioning properly.
