ALL SI Models - Ability to change all direct readouts
« on: December 27, 2012, 01:15:56 PM »
Model:
ALL SI Models
Suggested Upgrade:
Ability to change all direct readouts
Explanation:
Get rid of the direct readout boxes and just be able to place individual readouts any place on a screen with transparency level control.

If the above will not be done, I would like to see that when you are selecting direct readouts, that the pop-up box would come up on the right side of the screen so it does not cover up any of the readouts.

Also would like to see being able to put any available readout any place in the readout layout and not have any that are permanently locked in place in a specific view and cannot be changed.

Also being able to change location of the readout layout to side or bottom and ability to size the  text and box size to small, medium or large of any readout (not just having all the same size).

Also would like to be able to place icons where I want and not having to make a waypoint to show special icons, i.e. weeds, rocks, fish, trees.

DEFINETELY AGREE WITH THIS 100%. This is my Number 1 request I hope comes out in an update soon. I run a 998 up front and like to use the chart/sonar screen with the split set for a small sonar window and large chart window for staying lined up on waypoints. However, the readouts on the left all but cover up the sonar screen. This will also be really important with the 360 and trying to maximize all the screen space available when viewing with a 998.....please update soon.....!!!!

Thanks

this is one of the best wish lists items that have been put on here.  I also love the transparency idea.  This needs to be done!!!!!!

I agree 100% They take up screen space seems like a no brainer to give user the ability to remove them. when I first set mine up I dug through menus looking for the option to remove or make smaller. I thought for sure by common sense logic the option would be there!

Is this an IP issue? This has been the number one request for along time. Will it ever be done? Can we ever expect it? Greg??

Even IF the side data boxes could not be removed, the transparency is a huge PLUS.   :)
Some views already have it - just not the SI where IMO it counts the most - in WIDTH.
I know you're only one man Greg, but you're a good man - and I remember with my 787c2 almost 8 years ago, you took my request/complaint about the digital depth "flashing 0" when shut off until reboot to  engineering and within a few months that was fixed!  ;D
I would think, even IF not user adjustable; having transparency in the SI views would make many people very pleased!!

Thanks for ALL THAT YOU DO Greg!!
Best,

I would also like to see a very THIN font and size be able to be selected besides the transparency options.

This is at the top of the wish list or a very close second. If Humminbird has not resolved this issue by my next update "Depthfinder replacement" . My new units not be Humminbird, and thats sad to say, but just the way it is. I'll not spend thousands in trolling motors and accessories and not get what I want.. I don't need to spend and extra thousand to get it either. The thing is if I switch manufacture then that means I'll more than likely switch other electronics also so the can work in unison sorry minnkota ect. Sincerely Skinner.
Just one last cast.
