Sorry for the question.
I saw the video where KVD explains the new 1198 (www.bassmaster.com (http://www.bassmaster.com)).
Could somebody add some futher news about this model ?

Daniele, could that have been the 998?. I could not get a lik to the KVD site.

Humminbird did announce the New 1198 S I unit at ICast.
According to KVD, the only difference Humminbird is saying is that the 1198 unit will have a brighter screen. KVD could see a difference in the building but has only run the 1197.
I'm sure there may be a few more tweaks......

Here is the link to KVD talking about the new 1198. They are saying it will have the ethernet active. Which tells me they will be activating it on the other units as well.

I understood eleven 98 .
There could be some news about the possibility to broadcast images SI installad on the rear on that one installed on the bow and the other way around througt ethernet.
I' haven't spoken english for three years an so I could have misunderstood the actual meaning.
Please correct me if I' m wrong.

On another website, I read where HB will add high definition to some of the 700 series SI units.

You were right Daniel. I was suprised that HB chose ICast to announce. I hope Robert is right on the ethernet part. We need that.

Everything, as always!!!! Specially asked at a forum about leader replacement, the answer was - replacement will not be..... Has not passed and 5 months and here to you please 1198...... I to you will tell, how many costs at us 1197 - 5200$... The Normal throw on money. THANKS HB!!

I agree with Robert.... please translate... are you upset that HB came out with a new unit?

I am glad that HB develop and let out new models. But normal vendors let out roadmap on planned models in the future. I asked at a forum, whether there will be a replacement 1197 on newer model, the answer was - will not be. Dealers HB in Russia have answered as. Therefore I have bought 1197. At cost 1197 in 5200$, it is very difficult to change 1197 for new model. If I knew about plans HB on release 1198, I would wait with purchase.

I don' t think there will be so differences to justify the replacements of the unit.
KVD talks about a brighter screen and new network capabilities ( probably there will be on your unit too, with updates).
Nobody on www.humminbird.com (http://www.humminbird.com) has written anything. So , please wait.
I'm really curious too.

I think the 1198 is just the 1197 with new processors, etc. The features that they talk about (other than increasing the screen brightness) are all something that can added by software updates to the 1197.
I think it was only a matter of time since all the new units moved up to the **8 series model.
