Has anyone had a chance to use the new G2N SI units with Mega Side and Down Imaging? would be interested in the images and an opinion on the comparison between the regular SI. Also any difference in CHIRP in less then 100 ft depths?

hi
i test a helix 12 méga g2 si, a demonstration model, i use humminbird in survey for archaeology.
test to compare 898 si with towfish at 800khz, and helix méga hull mounted ducer.
the down imaging are realy good for the helix, and the scan at 1200 khz give more thing and more resolution.
the hull movement are verry interactive to the scan,
i test it on reefmaster replay, it work good but whe must turn gain to mini.
on the test model, only one side is working.
i can give 2 sample
one is do with 898 si at 800 khz with towfish, and the second at 1200khz hull mounted with helix.
now i wait for a helix 10 méga, do a towfish and >:D

Thanks! Both look better than my transom mounted 997C SI BTW but for sure I can see the improvements :) between the images you provided

Abra,
Do you have the length of the "mega"-transducer? I'm curious because it tells some about performance.

nice pictures ,is that on salt or fresh water?

hi
picture take on fresh water, the lengh of the ducer ? i don't take time to mesure it but it's midle of Hdsi and Lss2, i suppose 3 array, it's more larger than hdsi and i think easy to make a towfish, in post traitment the picture are better than all i see for moment, i wait for a helix 10 mega, and a soon i get it, i can go on waypoint to compare.

i think it's a verry good sounder, but in mega mode Very sensitive to the movements of the boat, in salt water maybe a problem, there's few waves and other things.
