Post by: jimf on April 16, 2010, 09:07:05 PM
1 bridge is very good shape, lake was filled 1970's. you can see creek under the bridge and the humps along side of the road.

thanks
I came to find out that if you go and scan the side of the bridge you get a better shot of it then if you went from the other way around.
I had the sensity on auto and chart speed at 4. 3 was a little slow and 5 was to fast.

I still haveing some problem with the 2 D sonar. I wrote to post about ti but know one wrote back yet.
IF the red on the bottom is thick dos that mean its a hard or soft bottom ?
Because I was setting on big rock near the bank and my bottom reading was light blue and yellow BUT had a small second reading unuder it and it was little red spots.
So I really don't know what color rocks (hard bottom) should look like on the screen

Jim,
I'm not familiar with the newer models, but I assume a red bottom signal indicates a hard bottom like with my good old 981.

Jimf very good shots. When you get a second echo the bottom is hard red means high
intensity return. red ,yellow, green, blue, whiteline highlights the strongest sonar return.Soft bottoms usually don't have second returns.    Gary
