Title: Screen brilliance after downloading update 5.450 on my 997c

I downloaded update version 5.450 from Humminbird's website and now when I boot up my 997c the brilliance of the screens shows 10 but seems to on the dark side.  After the unit has be on for awhile the screens brighten up.  Anyone one else having the same issue

It doesn't sound good.
If I were you, I'd first charge and load test your battery and check the power connections.

I have an 1197 that the screen went so dark that I could hardly see it at the brightest setting.  I had to send it in and HB replaced the CPU.

If the problem persists contact HB.
Hopefully, your unit is still under warranty.

Hey ITGEEK, sorry it took so long to reply but I been on holidays.  I have checked my battery and the connections and found a problem in the wiring.  It seems to be not so dark but I am keeping my eye on it.  Thanks alot for the advice as I still have warranty until 2012, so I will definitely keep a sharp lookout for any problems.  Again thanks for the info.
