Hi  does anyone know what the best settings are to view brushpiles in shallow water (less than 10ft) I am having trouble picking up brush piles (that i know are there) on my side scan.

Do you have any pictures?  It will help a little in determining what kind of images you are getting, the type of bottom, etc. 

What settings are you using?  800khz, 455khz? Range? Sensitivity, Contrast, Sharp?  How fast are you going? Chart Speed?

Brush piles can be difficult to spot sometimes!

I am going at trolling motor speed with 800khz, i have the sensitivity set pretty high,chart speed high.  i have not played with the contrast.  I am not picking up the piles at all, i know that they are there because i put them there and i can see them on traditional down sonar.  Also do you think that it a good idea to run my transducer on my trolling motor rather than the transom?  My 997 is always on the bow for fishing purposes.
