Solix and Onix 14-pin connector pinout
Woollybob:
New to the forum. Just got a new boat and added 2 Solix 12s.
Ranger decided to put an old-style thru-hull transducer with the 9-pin connector in the new boat. I have the Y-cable, but the AD 1429 cable needed to go from the 9-pin to the 14-pin is on backorder everywhere. Have tried ordering 3 places and they all contact me afterward saying they cannot get it. I talked to someone at Humminbird and they said they had some, but then sent me the wrong part (glad I paid for express shipping).
The connector for the thru-hull only has 2 pins on it (9 spots, but only 2 pins present). I have searched the internet high and low and cannot find the pinout for the 14-pin transducer connector coming out of the Solix (or Y-cable). Humminbird says they do not have that either (not sure how they designed the adapter cable if that is true).
Does anyone know the pinout for the 14-pin transducer connector?
I have already looked at adding another glassed in transducer, but the area is totally inaccessible (hence why the do them at the factory). I'm not adding a skimmer.
Very frustrated with HB. I'm $6k in for their electronics and can't get the boat in the water. If anyone has the pinout, that would be great - Will at least allow me to make an adapter until the backordered one comes in.

Here is the pinout for the ONIX ... It should be the same ...
Which cable did HB actually send you ...??

Call Brian at BBG Marine ... He most likely will have the AD 1429 adapter cable ...

rnvic - you are a wizard. Thanks for the pinout - I could not find that anywhere. And yes, same connector between Onix and Solix.
My understanding of the XP-9-20 is that the center (#7) is the drain/ground and top (#6) is the 200/83 black wire.
So not sure if I should take the two 2D wires from the 14-pin and connect to the 2 pins on the 9-pin, or combine the 2D pins and also connect the drain/gound pins.
Should I connect from the 9 pin to the 14 pin: #6 to #3 (black to black) and #7 to #7?
Or, should I connect from the 9 pin to the 14 pin: #6 to #3&7 (2D wires) and #7 to #10 (ground/drain)?
To your other question, HB did not send me a cable at all - They sent me a thru-hull mega transducer.
Here is where I got the pinout for the installed ducer connector (though mine is not the -T version)

Your 2d pinout is correct ...
I would offer you continue looking for the AD 1429 before Splicing perfectly good xducer cables ...
While Splicing is possible (and I've spliced many) - the integrity of the factory shielding cannot be (and most likely will not be) as effective once the cable has been compromised ...
