Mounting a Helix 7si to the trolling motor
« on: February 05, 2017, 05:48:25 PM »
Hey guys!!

New to the forum.  I am hoping someone can shed some light for a dummy...lol.   I have a riptide 24v 80lb ipilot.  I just purchased a Helix 7si for the front of the boat.  I want to mount the transducer to the trolling motor.  Can I use the transducer that came out of the?  I know I will need a mount.  My question is about the side imaging.  I realize that if I'm turning ingredients the trolling motor, I will have a jacked up si screen, but will everything else work out ok?  Down imaging and 2d?  Also, I am worried about the wiring wrapping around when using the anchor feature of  the ipilot.  I saw a picture ofor one that had the transducer wire ran through the coiled wire for the ipilot.  Any ideas on how I can accomplish this.  I really want it on the front but I don't want to put anything in danger of being torn up.  I do think know if I'm making much sense.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

As long as you understand the SI image will skew somewhat when the TM is turned quickly, the SI xducer on the TM is a great option ...

Here is one option of the coiled air hose for electric steer xducer cable management ...

-----

Your HELIX 7 SI came with the XHS 9 SI 180 T Side Imaging xducer ...

You can call HB and exchange this transom mount xducer for the XTM 9 SI 180 T which is a trolling motor puck housing ...(It also has extra shielding for possible rfi interference) ...
