Couple Questions
« on: December 13, 2015, 01:53:22 AM »
1. Im mounting a Shoot thru hull transduce for my 999 and the helm. I was told to put water in my bilge and test. Well the issue is my 2015 Triton does not like water in there and the bilge kicks on. Would it be feasible to stick the duce in plumbers putter temporarily just for testing purposes at high speeds? how easy is plumbers putty to clean up once dried?

2. I want to put a Helix 9 GPS/Sonar only at the helm just for the mapping and 2d and use the 999 for SI/DI. Does the helix 9 use the same ducer as the 999 and can they be connected?

1. Why dont you just disable the bilge for your testing? Take out the fuse or something simple?

2. Dont see why not, the Helix should be able to take the 83/200 from the HDSI transducer attached to the 999. My 898 and 859 share all sorts of frequencies on each screen.

You just want to make sure there are no bubbles, a good big blob of silicone would do the job, covering the whole underside of the transducer. You should be bale to peel this off afterwards. is there no "pot" in the boat from factory to fill with water and store the transducer?
