thermocline
« on: August 07, 2011, 09:21:16 AM »
I've read the manual, seen the thermocline illustration on pg 47 i think it is in the book; my problem is  I can't find the thermocline in 37 ft of water on my home lake.  i've called the humminbird select 800 number, bout to call it again if i can't get it.  what are your settings when you find the thermocline??  i did do a search for thermocline before posting this and didn't see this question already out there, thank you

Thermoclines can be difficult to see sometimes, and sometimes they are very prevalent.

Do you have the Switchfire on Max or Clear?  Max will probably help to see it more.  Noise filter Off.  Sensitivity up.  Also try turning 83khz on or off and see if it will help pick it up better.

Have you got any screen shots you can post and let us see whats going on?

Sir,
i did not take any pictures, not that far along in my learning curve.  after talking to humminbird the image was vastly improved;  i'm going to take your instructions go out and try again, and maybe if i get something to show up flip over in the book how to take screen shots.  thank you much,
