There are two ways to view that screen:
On the first start up screen, push the Menu key. Scroll down to System Status and push the Right arrow of the 4-way button to select it. After that push the View key to get to the GPS Diagnostic screen.

The other way is after the second start up screen, push the Exit key. Then push the Menu key twice, scroll over to the Set Up tab and down to User Mode-change to Advanced. The scroll back to the top and over to the Views menu and the down to GPS Diagnostic View to make it Visible. Push the Exit button twice. Then push the View button or the Exit button to scroll thru all the visible screens to get to the GPS Diagnostic screen.

To get to the Time and Date format section:
Push the Menu key twice and scroll over to the Set Up tab, then scroll down to Time Format or Date Format.

Thanks again for the great info ONCE MORE. It is hugely appreciated. I spent the morning out on the water getting acquainted with my new buddy "HB" and all is going well. Info is very difficult to obtain out here  in Oz and the DVDs that came with the unit are very light on actual instruction on how to use this great piece of gear and how to get the most out of it. If you have a good DVD available in the U.S. I would be happy to purchase same.
i was given a Navionics Gold  XL9 charts a new  CF32XG Vol. 1.22 for Australia that i would like to swap for the SD version if you hear of one available anytime.
Thanks again for the help!!!!!!!!!!
Geoff
