Title: Onix map card management..
Post by: MetalHd on April 27, 2016, 07:21:04 PM
I have an Onix 8ci si combo, a blank 32 gb card, and the zeroline card.  I see older units preserving their zeroline card space by mapping sonar to the blank card, then only transferring the converted map to the zeroline card.  With the Onix, the AutoChart Live data can only be saved to zeroline.  Does this make space management an issue?  Should I map with only sonar data saved to the blank card, and not save AutoChart live data?  Or does the software intelligently take this into consideration, and either purging the data after map completion or only maintaining a single copy of the data?

Also, can I copy the file structure to a spare card for the same Onix unit?

Maine maps are not that popular, so I have a need to create alot of private maps, and want to start with the proper storage management strategies.

Thanks..

It's my understanding that AutoChart Live can be created at the same time as recording to a blank SD Card ...

It's also my understanding that AutoChart Live can now be imported into the AutoChart Pro version of software ...

It may be a good idea to keep the recordings on the blank SD Card for import into the AutoChart PC software ...and just use the Zero Line card for map creation/storage ...

Check out the LakeMastEr AutoChart forum ... There are some guys doing really well with the AutoChart products ...
