Title: 598 chart issue

When Im cruising around in the boat, my 598 doesn't want to stay at the scale I select on the chart. Some times I want to zoom in or out while cruising to see something off the screen or zoom in on some detail while under way.

However, the unit has a bad habit of switching back to its default scale all on its own. This is very frustrating at times.

Is there some setting I can change to stop this from happening?

My unit has the up-date that came out last year.

Larry,
Try looking under the Chart menu tab for the Auto Zoom and Auto Chart menu settings.  You may need to set these to “Off”.
