Down imaging question
« on: April 29, 2012, 09:32:03 PM »
Took my new boat out for the first time Friday. I got the SI to work, but can not get the DI to work. I have a 1198SI and 998 SI on the boat.  any ideas. it looks like everything is turned on. Why would SI work but not DI. The screen for DI is just blank.

Do they share the same transducer.?
Are the two units interconnected.?

Is this on both units rdstair or only on one unit?
If you are getting Si sonar you should be getting Di sonar as this is the same data just presented differently.

What is your Max Depth and Lower Range and SI Range menus set to abd what was the water depth you used the unit in?

They both share the same transducer. It is for both units. Max depth is on auto I'll have to check lower range. SI range is 100ft what is abd? depth was 3-34 feet. with di do you need to go slow like in si mode.

I'm guessing abt is shorthand for about.

… and sometimes fingers get crossed.  Sorry guys.  The “abd” was supposed to be “and”.  Missed with my typing finger and hit the “b” in place of the “n”.

rdstair, can you post a Screen Snapshot of what the Si and Di sonar looks like.  Try getting an image of the combo Si - Di sonar View.  I had someone on this or another web site that was having almost the same problem but it was due to the Si sonar not working, which I noted after seeing a Screen Snapshot of what they were seeing.

The Di sonar comes from the Si sonar; so what helps the Si sonar looks better (like a slower moving boat) should make the Di sonar look better.
