Title: Which thru hull transducer for HB 999
Post by: battleborn on August 29, 2015, 05:30:39 PM
  Good day.
I asked HB support about installing a HB transducer in my boat they gave me a part number for the plastic transducer xth 9 20p.  On the website it says its a "kayak transducer".  Anyway I already have a bronze thru hull that the P.O. had a sitex sounder installed and was wondering if the the xth 9 20 bronze would work instead.  They said to get the y adaptor.  SO would the 999 know to switch between transducers automatically or would I have to change them when I swap between SI and DI etc.  I would anticipate having better bottom lock and readings on returns at speed because it will be mounted in an area that does not have any "disturbance".  Thank you for your input.  Looking to put an order in today.  Cheers.

Both the XTH 9 20 Bronze thru hull (0.86" shaft diameter) and the XTH 9 20 T Plastic thru hull (1" shaft diameter) are Dual Beam 83kHz/200kHz ...so either will work in your setup with the AS SIDB Y cable ...

The AS SIDB Y cable disconnects the 2d channel wires from the HDSI and redirects the 2d channel to the Dual Beam ...

Because the AS SIDB Y cable is merely redirecting wires ...there are no settings to change in the unit ...

*SI/DI/Temp will always come from the HDSI ...
*2d will always come from the Dual Beam ...
