Title: 797c2i loads Navionics but flashes chart every 10 sec.

Hey there,
 
My Humminbird 797c2i has been working fine up until about two months ago when I have no idea what changed. I can put my gold navionics charts in, and ive tried with a few different charts and it does the same thing, but the problem is that they load up and then every ten seconds it will flash the chart. The basemap stays on but the detail will go away for a second then load right back up. Its getting to be a hassle fishing with this. I tried all the latest updates and my unit still does this. Any ideas?

Mattimus,

Does this happen in just one area or all over?  I ask this because if you are on the edge of a chart for a given area it may try to constantly reload the charts.

If this is not the case, have you tried to go back to an older version of the software and see if it happens then?

Some settings to check would be the Chart Detail Level and Chart Select.  Let me know what these are set to.  Change them around and see if anything changes with the flashing.

If none of the above has any affect, I would imagine it have to be the card slot or something hardware related.

I started having this problem last fall and sent the unit in for repair, still have problem, software update to fix this was supposed to be out last month. Funny how it worked fine for months, that started having problems. Pure frigging magic.
